After Charles got home from work, and we finished packing we drove to Roger's and Sharon's house in Littleton, Colorado.
There we enjoyed Chinese food and Roger's and Sharon's co. There was lightening in nearly every direction but we got very little rain. After dinner we talked a while more with Rog and Sharon before They headed to bed.
Rog and Sharon had hosted a wedding at their house a few months back, and the Gazebo was all decked out with festive lights. Well, I couldn't waste such an opportunity for photographs so, Chas and I grabbed the camera, and headed outside. We took pictures of the two of us at the gazebo. This was an entertaining experience since the only place to see the camera was quite a way from where the gazebo is.. Chas did the sprint from the porch to the gazebo, pose with me, and head back to the camera. Maybe you had to be there, but I tell ya, it was amusing.
We took a strole around the back yard. The air was cool and crisp. The thick soft grass felt wonderful to my bare feet. I layed down in the grass and just watched the stars. Chas wondered within range and I dragged him down next to me. We cuddled for awhile and just took it all in. The sound of water trickling down into the pond was so relaxing we almost went to sleep. It was a magical evening. So peaceful.

In the morning we headed over to get a tire fixed at Peerless Tire, not far from Rog and Sharon's house. We got excellent service there too btw, although I understand Roger has some influence there :-).
We pack the cars and head to Granby, CO. I wish I had the skills to fully capture the beauty of the drive to Granby. The little mining towns. The picture perfect mountains. The tunnel. It is a breathtaking view most all the way to Granby. On our way back, I will have to have the camera ready. I can't believe I forgot it in the trunk!
We had breakfast-lunch in Granby and we checked into the little motel. Breakfast was wonderful. We grabbed the camera and fishing poles and headed out to the boat.
We went fishing, no luck, but it was fun to sit on the back ledge of the boat and dangle my feet over the edge.
I got to enjoy boat racing. We were just zipping along when a pontoon boat, of sorts passed us. I was driving Roger and Sharon's boat. Roger said something along the lines of well I think we can beat them, and told me to open her up. He was right she had plenty of zip to her! Passing the pontoon boat wasn't a problem. :-) Nothing like racing across the lake. The rest of the day was, for the intent of this accounting, uneventful. We pulled in and headed back to the motel. I might also mention that I seem to be a pretty shade of pink today. What a wonderful day.
Roger and Sharon took us to dinner. We went to The Longranch Restaurant in Granby Colorado. This is rather strange because I had been telling Chas that I had wanted to go to a restaurant Hans (ex-husband) and I had gone to a few yrs back, but I didn't even remember the name of the restaurant, much less for sure where it was.
Anyway, dinner was incredible. I had fried chicken and German chocolate cake. OOh, now that was one of the tastiest meals I've ever had.
Chas and I took a walk around Granby before heading to bed. It is a cute little town, and the air was wonderfully fall like. There was a light cool breeze, the temp was about 65 degrees. It was one of those nights where a sweater would have been comfy. In fact before morning I was wearing a sweater. What wonderful scenery and weather for cuddling. Anyway, we had a wonderful day.

We got up Sunday and headed to the boat. I had been thinking of what kind of gift I could get Roger (and Sharon) for Christmas.. Sharon had mentioned that Roger didn't have many pictures of the boat, and so I set my mind to getting a unique picture of the boat for Roger. What did I come up with? I'll explain in a few. We got to the boat.. and headed out. I had told Sharon my plan for taking pictures of the boat, and she had no problem with it. I knew we only had a few hours on the boat today so, I stripped to my swimsuit and dropped into the lake.. it was cold, ooh yes it was, but it wasn't too bad. The water temp was 73 degrees. I asked Chas to hand me the camera and I swam, with the camera out of the water, over my head out to about 100 yds from the boat, where I treaded water, framed the boat, and took the picture. Roger is, it would seem, rather nervous about people swimming at Lake Granby.. Sure the water is cold, but not dangerous.. at least it didn't seem so to me.. I only got one picture before I was asked to return to the safety of the boat. Really, I was okay.. I don't mind cold water, really, ask my mother, she'll tell ya! The good news is the picture I got of the boat turned out really well, and I'm very proud of it. Unfortunetly, Roger asked for a copy of the picture, and so I'm giving it to him sooner, rather than later (like Christmas time) I tell ya, best laid plans... We had a wonderful time, and all was well. We docked, and headed for home. We had lunch in Idaho Springs, I don't remember the name of the restaurant but I think it had something to do with buffalo. After lunch we headed back to Rog and Sharon's and visited for awhile. Then we headed back to the springs. What a wonderful week-end.
Charles and I would like to express our deepest graditute to Roger and Sharon for this mini vacation. It was a truly desired breakfrom everyday life, and the warmth and love we experienced has truly helped me feel welcomed into the family. Starting out as newly-weds has it's own degree of stress. Being so warmly accepted by you has make the experience much easier. We are ever so thankful to get to share these experiences with you. Thank you.
